1. (Click on photo for a whole set of pix) Last week I was on a cruise ship in the Caribbean, sailing with a handful of rock bands and a bunch of devoted fans of the Barenaked Ladies. They had invited the Mountain Goats (and the Weakerthans and Christine Fellows, yay!) to play their cruise, Ships & Dip V, and graciously extended the invitation (and free cruise fare) to spouses and significant others as well. It was a great time, and an invaluable opportunity to spend time with some of my favorite musicians and friends. Came home to a 72 degree February day in NC, considerably warmer than the blustery day we spent on Key West. It’s been over 48 hours since I’ve been off the boat and I still feel like the ground is gently rocking beneath me.
